Congratulations to Stefan for receiving “Alberta Sport Connection’s” 2016 Alberta Junior Male Athlete of the Year award. Thank you to Alberta Bicycle Association for nominating Stefan. It is a great honour and he is being recognized for his achievements at the Alberta Sport Awards Banquet on Friday, April 28th in Banff, Alberta.
“These individuals and teams are Alberta’s best. We’re proud of what they’ve achieved and honoured to recognize them for their outstanding contribution to sport in our province,” said Andrew Ference, Chair of Alberta Sport Connection. “They have reached higher, dug deeper, led by example, and made our sport system better.”
Stefan had an outstanding year in 2016 from receiving three Junior National Titles in March; to winning Gold in Kilo Time Trial at Junior Worlds in July along with a Bronze in Sprint; and then to setting two World Junior records in the Flying 200 Qualifier and Kilo Time Trial at the Pan Ams in Mexico in October.
